What is Ayurvedic Yoga Massage?
Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a comprehensive dynamic bodywork that combines deep tissue massage therapy with yoga-based assisted stretching and breathwork into one treatment. The session takes place on a mattress on the floor and usually lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. This massage differs from other traditional Ayurvedic massages, particularly in its assisted stretches (passive yoga), which form the method’s core and set it apart from others. In addition, unlike the Ayurvedic oily massage treatment called Abhyangam, just a tiny amount of oil is used to deliver the massage. The massage sublimely exfoliates due to the signature Calamus root powder, applied with the oil, in deep massage strokes performed with the hands and feet. The massage is tailor-made when adjusting the pressure and selecting the series of stretches to suit individual needs. The session provides a deep sense of openness and wellbeing on a physical, psychological and emotional level.
